The goal here is to make an airplane that can successfully obtain fight in air using just paper and some basic folding skills. The airplane can be made out of any type of paper and any size if the steps are followed correctly. The result will be a sleek looking paper plane that has the the ability to fly fairly fast.
- Take a piece of paper (in this case 8.5×11) and place it portrait mode flat on the desk.
- Fold the paper in half from left to right (hot-dog style) and firmly crease it down the fold you created.
- Open the fold you created and fold two triangles by taking the corners on the top left and right side of the paper. Fold it down to meet the crease you created when the paper was folded in half.
- After you have finished folding the first set of triangles, create another fold on top of the
triangles. Basically, take the the paper and fold it again towards the center from both
sides, you will end up with two isosceles looking triangles.
- Once you are done completing the fold, take the paper and fold it in half, taking the left
side and folding it over to the right.
- After folding the plane in half once more, it is time to create the wings so that it can
actually fly. To create the wings you must fold both sides of the plane to the centerfold.
This means taking one side of the plane and folding backwards to the center, and repeating
the same on the other side of the plane.
- Once it is folded on both sides, push the wings up, you should have now successfully
created a paper airplane. Hopefully these steps were helpful. Enjoy your plane!
